Barack and Hillary Luncheon

So, why did Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton get together at a White House luncheon?  To break bread and eat grilled chicken?  I hardly think so.

Here's my take.

Once more the Democrat powers that be throw Hillary under the bus.  She has become expendable.  It wasn't just for a friendly chit chat about good old times.  It was a demand that she step aside in 2016 so. . . .  You ready for this?

Keeping an Eye on the Ball

Obama frequently says:  "Washington doesn't keep its eye on the ball."

In case, Mr. President, you haven't noticed YOU are Washington.  The seat of government IS in Washington.  You ARE the head of state.  You ARE the commander-in-chief.  You ARE the leader (?) of the ruling political party in Washington.  You DO reside (when you stay home) in the White House at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C.  What's to say you ARE NOT Washington?

Just who is it that doesn't keep their eye the ball?  Who is it that runs from problems in Washington to the hinterland to pontificate about "political posturing, distractions and phony scandals" instead to staying home, keeping his eye on the ball, and providing the leadership needed to get the ball to bouncing again?

You, Sir, ARE the phony.

Letter from Obama

Today I received an email from Obama with the White House logo at the top.  In it he said:

"Too many people in this town are focused on scoring political points or fanning phony scandals instead of finding ways to help grow our economy, create jobs, or roll back a 30-year trend of rising inequality."

Is this guy for real?

How can he say with a straight face that Benghazi, NSA, IRS and Fast & Furious are phony?  It's a national disgrace for a president to say such scandals are phony.  If anything he is the phony.  It's beyond reality that the national news media are so in Obama's hip pocket that they say nothing to denigrate him, and that alone is scandalous.  FoxNews and conservative talk radio are the only ones that keep harping on the scandals.

There's three ways to solve a problem: 1) face it head on and resolve it; 2) transfer it to someone else; and 3) ignore it long enough and it will go away.

Obama's solution is ignore it, go to Illinois and talk endlessly about jobs and inequality.  An empty suit with no real solutions and no real leadership qualities. 

Pew Research - Illegals will vote Democrat 8:1

A new poll by the Pew Research Center shows that the new voting bloc of illegal aliens created by the Senate's S. 744 and new legislation being planned in the House will vote Democrat 8 to 1. 

This is astoundingly interesting!

How is it the Pew researchers can find the illegal aliens supposedly hiding in the shadows, but our government has no idea who or where they are?

I know this.  If you want to see where some of them are hiding just hang around Walmart.

Stand-Your-Ground or Acquiesce

There's much conversation about the stand-your-ground law.  Most of it by people who have never been in a crucial situation where everything happens fast and unpredictable.  Obama pontificated that you should use stand-your-ground force only when there is no opportunity to retreat.  In other words, run for it and hope for the best.  Very typical of the progressive liberal mindset.

A very good example of stand-your-ground occurred on September 11, 2001 when terrorists commandeered some airplanes and flew them into the Trade Towers and the Pentagon.  As a society we had been conditioned by our erstwhile know-it-all leaders to simply acquiesce to the demands of airplane hijackers and hope every thing will turn out okay.

The result of such thinking resulted in two airplanes flown into the Trade Towers and one into the Pentagon causing the loss of over 3,000 lives of innocent people.  But, when the passengers on Flight 11 heard about the Trade Center and Pentagon on their cellphones some of the passengers took a stand-your-ground position, and though they paid dearly for their actions they saved the White House and/or the Capitol Building and numerous lives.

When your head is being banged on a concrete sidewalk it is wise to take a stand-your-ground position if possible because it is uncertain at which point the next bang of your head will be your last.

The stand-your-ground and self-defense laws are one in the same, unless you are of the mindset you are required to run for your life before you can fight for your life.    

Obscuration

Obama and Holder cannot stay out of the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin issue.  They constantly have to publicly voice an opinion interjecting racial issues where there are none.  Why?

The answer is simple.  As long as they fan the fires of racial divisiveness the lapdog media will incessantly cover the injustice of Trayvon thus obscuring the real Obama scandals of Benghazi, NSA and IRS.  The longer they are kept off the national news radar the less people will remember and demand accountability.

Neighborhood Watch Group - Race and Politics

What is a neighborhood watch group?  The operative word is "watch."

A neighborhood has a crime problem so they form a watch group.  Why?  To watch for suspicious behavior by someone and report it to the police.  Now, once it is reported to the police is the "watch" person to go away?  No, he should continue to watch the suspicious person until the police arrive.

If there was a failure in the Zimmerman/Martin event it was the police.  They simply did not get there in time to prevent a confrontation incident between the watcher and the suspicious person.  Had they arrived promptly it would have been avoided.

My take based on what I've seen and heard from TV accounts is:

°  Zimmerman was a volunteer neighborhood watch person.
°  Zimmerman had a legal permit to carry a concealed handgun.
°  Zimmerman is 5 feet 7 inches tall weighing 158 pounds at the time.
*  It was a dark rainy windy night.
*  Zimmerman sees a hooded person acting in a suspicious manner.
°  Zimmerman watches the hooded person and decides to call the police.
°  Zimmerman looses sight of the suspicious person for 4 minutes but stays on the cellphone with the 911 operator..
°  The suspicious person (Martin) suddenly emerges from some bushes and confronts Zimmerman who has no idea who Martin is.
°  After a short exchange of words Martin (5 feet 11 inches tall weighing 175 pounds) punches Zimmerman in the nose hard enough to break his nose and knock him to the ground.
°  Martin pounced astraddle Zimmerman and began to pound his head on a concrete sidewalk hard enough to break the scalp skin and cause bleeding.
°  Zimmerman screams for help hoping the police have arrived and will hear him.
°  During the struggle Martin sees Zimmerman's gun and makes a move for it.
°  Zimmerman withdraws the gun and fires hitting Martin in the chest.
°  The police arrive and take Zimmerman into custody.
°  The police decided Zimmerman acted in self defense and did not refer the case to the district attorney for indictment.

Forty-four days later:

°  Someone at the White House seeking to divert national attention from Obama's scandals called Eric Holder at the Department of Justice (DOJ).
°  Someone at the DOJ called Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, et al and said they were sending blue shirted DOJ people to Sanford, FL to facilitate the peace.
°  Sharpton, Jackson, et al ran to the closest TV microphone and condemned Zimmerman as a heinous white racist that murdered a black kid just strolling around eating Skettles.  (It later was found that Zimmerman was part Hispanic, so he was branded a "white Hispanic.")
°  Sharpton, Jackson, et all caught the next available fight to Florida to round up demonstrators and lead a protest march accompanied by the DOJ blue shirts.
°  Zimmerman was indicted for 2nd degree murder.

Obama had to even personally interject himself as he said, "If I had a son he would be exactly like Trayvon Martin."  Yeah!  Sure!  Of all the murders committed (especially in Chicago) around the nation, why did this one become the highest profile murder trial since the O.J. Simpson trial?

Don't even try to convince me this is not about race and politics.     

Justice?

Is justice being served in the George Zimmerman trial in Sanford, Florida?

I hardly think so.  The entire trial and events leading up to the indictment of Zimmerman is a charade of politics and race fueled by the race hucksters Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and yes, even Barack Obama.

It obviously was a clear-cut case of self defense and the local authorities recognized it as such.  They did not indict Zimmerman until 44 days later after the blood-sucking race mongrels got in the act and brought pressure on the local authorities to charge Zimmerman with 2nd degree murder.  Then it has been fueled by the national press so it has become anything but an exercise in justice, regardless of the final verdict.

Use of Deadly Force

I've watched some of the media reporting of the George Zimmerman trial where he is being tried for second degree murder for shooting and killing Trayvon Martin.  Much has been said about self defense, use of deadly force and at what point it is prudent and legal to use deadly force in an altercation.

I'm here to tell you from personal experience that if a person is in a fight and his primary concern is at what point is my life threatened to the extent I can prudently use deadly force then he will get the living daylights beat out of him, or maybe even killed.  Not good options.

There are no Marquis of Queensberry rules for fighting when in a brawl.  Also, things happen so fast you don't think, you react.  There is no time to strategize.  You can't give the other guy any benefit of the doubt.  When I was in the army a guy attacked me.  I decked him.  I stood there waiting for him to get up instead of pouncing on him.  I should have run, but that wasn't manly.  He came up with a wooden brace out of a canvas cot and proceeded to flail me unmercifully.  I had the good sense to take a dive after the second lick to my head protected only by my hands which took the beating.  I had to make a parachute jump the next morning with a group of trainees.  My hands hurt so badly my fellow cadre-men had to buckle up my parachute for me.

For anyone in a courtroom to presume they know what goes through the minds of two guys in a fight is pure folly.

Fear of the Government

Friday night my wife and I had dinner with a friend.  She is a horse woman.  She owns and operates a working horse ranch nearby.  She usually wears jeans, boots and spurs.  This night she was wearing shoes.

We had friendly conversation that later turned to a concern of our lady friend.  She was fearful of an extensive questionnaire she received from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).  It was lengthy and asked all kinds of intrusive questions about her and her business.  It carried a threat that if she did not comply she would be subject to a substantial fine and USDA officials would pay her a visit.  She felt compelled to comply, though reluctantly.  She is convinced the questionnaire was because a few months ago she made a substantial contribution to The TEA Party.

Why are we fearful of the government?  Why would an unexpected letter in the mailbox from the IRS send shivers of fear up a citizen's spine?  The government no longer fears the citizens.  It pries  into the citizens' personal lives and communications.  It controls public information and manipulates the lives of citizens to curry favor at the ballot box. The government is bigger than the citizens.

Small wonder we fear the government.  It is no longer our government.  It is "The Government."

Illegal immigrants - Hiding in the Shadows?

I for one am weary of hearing politicians and pundits talk unabashed about bringing illegal immigrants out from hiding in the shadows.

When I have to press 1 for English, they are not hiding in the shadows.
When I shop at the local stores and all the signs are posted with English and Spanish, they are not hiding in the shadows.
When I pump gasoline for my car and I have to press English or Spanish for the receipt, they are not hiding in the shadows.
When the signs at the courthouse are displayed in English and Spanish, they are not hiding in the shadows.
When I see business signs and advertisements that say, "Se habla Espanol", they are not hiding in the shadows.
When almost every product I buy the information and instructions are also written in Spanish, they are not hiding in the shadows.

Let's face it, folks.  They are here in plain sight everywhere, not hiding in the shadows.  They are here and there's not much we can do about it.  The only thing the government wants is to grant them citizenship to expand the Democrat voting base.

Trust in Government

I no longer have trust in government, not only today, but going way back.

In 1958 we lived in New Jersey and I commuted to work in mid-town Manhattan to work.  I rode the 8th Avenue A-Train subway from 172nd Street to Columbus Circle where I transferred to the BB local.  I had a sore throat most of the time I rode the A-Train.  Years later I learned the government was conducting germ warfare experiments and the A-Train subway tube provided the perfect enclosed controllable area.  So, thousands of riders like me had sore throats most the time for the better part of a year.  Was that right?

When we lived in Salt Lake City in the 1960's the government was doing all kinds of strange things out in the desert west of Salt Lake City.

Today we have the NAS, IRS, CIA, and FBI doing all kinds of intrusive things we have no ideas about.  They spin, obfuscate, stonewall, deny and outright lie.  Our president is a mystery.  We know very little about him except for that  which over time he is inadvertently gradually revealing.

The government rightfully needs to keep some things secret for national security.  But, everything?  Billions of phone calls every single day?  E-mails?  Tweets?  Medical records?  Where does it stop?  I've ceased to believe or trust any and all levels of government.

Just what is the government so afraid of?

Obama-Kenya-Gay Marriage

Obama on vacation in Africa told Kenya they needed to modernize and accept gay (homosexual) marriage.  A Kenyan leader told Obama more or less to butt out and mind his own business, that even dogs know gender.
