HIM DID IT
When we lived in Dallas we lived in a typical housing development.  Our backyard was fenced with a stockade fence.  We had a latch type gate on one side of the house.  Brothers aged 4 and 6 lived next door.  They had gone uninvited into our backyard several times.  I had told them emphatically several times not to open the gate.
One day I happened to be at the kitchen window near the gate.  The boys were playing nearby.  I saw the 4-year old lift the latch to open the gate.  I raised the window and scolded him.  He immediately pointed to his older brother and said, “Him did it.”

This is the Democrats.  Every day at every opportunity they point the finger at Trump and say, “Him did it.”  This is simply the act of a 4-year old boy to deflect blame from their own misdeeds and to incriminate someone else, Trump.

WEALTH TAX
There’s much ado by the several Democrat candidates to tax the wealthy to pay for their liberal schemes.  Their only concept is to take and to spend.  They don’t understand wealth or how it is created.  I dare to say that if all the individual wealth in the country was divided equally among all the people that in five years most of it would be back in the hands of the same people.
Wealth is the fuel that drives the economy.  Wealthy people do not put their money in the mattress.  They put it to work.

RAPE VICTIM ON CBS 60 MINTES
The CBS 60 Minute program profiled a young woman that was a rape victim.  I felt sorrowful for her.  But, as the program progressed with facts my sorrow began to wane.  She was a non-student but she went to a frat house party.  She admittedly drank three different kinds of booze and was drunk.  She got on a table and danced.  I can imagine her dancing displayed suggestive pelvic gyrations.  The next thing she remembered was laying on the ground with her clothes disheveled and then being transported to the hospital.   The program also interviewed two young men (non-students)  who happened on the scene of an unconscious woman on the ground with a man on top of her.  He got off and ran.  The two men ran him down and held him until the police arrived.  As the program advanced it turned out she was shamelessly  promoting a book she wrote about the incident.  At this point I had little sympathy.
I emphatically do not approve of the young man taking advantage of an unconscious woman, drunk or otherwise.  But, I also emphatically think a young attractive woman should not put herself in a situation where she acts like a whore but wants to be treated like a lady.

BLACKFACE
What’s all this obsession with blackface?
For years minstrel shows were an acceptable form of American entertainment developed in the early 19th century.  The shows consisted of comic skits, variety acts, dancing, and music performances that often depicted people of African descent.  It never occurred to people they were being racist when they applied blackface to participate in a show.  I don’t think I ever heard the word racist until I was a student in college.
I remember in the 3rd grade our class performed some kind of a minstrel show program for the school.  I don’t remember much about it, but I do remember that several mothers applied blackface on kids for certain parts.  I remember Arbry Lee, a classmate and friend.  His mother, Mrs. Davis, was one of the mothers.  I don’t remember anything about the program.  But, I do remember how much Mrs. Davis scrubbed to get all that blackface off my face.
So, 80 years later am I now a racist?

WAR-TIME RULES of ENGAGEMENT
It’s despicable the number of our soldiers serving hard time in federal prison because they violated some asinine Rule of Engagement in the heat of battle.  War is mean, nasty, dirty, cruel business. There’s nothing nice about it.  In the heat of battle life-or-death decisions have to be made in the matter of a second or less.  It gives cause to pause and reflect on how many of our soldiers have been killed because they hesitated to ponder the legality of their actions.
Sometimes in war zones civilians are killed.  Too bad.  That’s collateral damage.  Don’t be in a war zone.  How many civilians were killed by both sides during WW II?
Warfare in Afghanistan and other like countries more often than not is waged by battle harden warriors in civilian clothes. They often use civilians as human shields or for diversionary tactics.  It’s impossible to discern who is a warrior and who is a civilian.
A guy in civilian clothing roars up to a platoon of our soldiers.  He explodes a suicide bomb killing several.  Next day two guys on motorcycles come roaring up. One of our soldiers shoots and kills them.  According to the locals they were civilians.  No bombs found on their persons.  Our soldier is taken into custody, tried by a military court, and sentenced to years in prison for murder.  How was he to discern they were simply civilians out for a motorcycle ride?  Or, were they on some kind of diversionary tactic for a larger operation?
Rules of engagement for warfare is one of the most stupid things ever promulgated on our soldiers by fat-ass politicians miles away in their plush offices and life styles.  Furthermore, if a soldier is tried for some infraction of the rules of engagement he should be judged by a jury of his peers that have experienced actual combat, not military desk jockeys.

In WW II we had only one rule of engagement . . . kill the enemy before he kills you.

FOOTBALL SAFETY
There’s a lot of national conversation about football safety, particularly the helmet.  There’s deep concern about concussions and brain damage.
I played high school football 75 years ago and a little in college after my military service.  I don’t think it is the equipment that causes injuries.  I think it is the change in rules all in the interest of making football more of a spectator sport, and thus more $$$.
When I played we played both ways.  We did not have offense, defense, and specialty squads.  No mass substitutions.  We could substitute only two players at a time, and only during an official timeout.  Consequently, you had to be able to play both offense and defense.  You had to be able to play multiple positions.  If you were on defense and there was a turnover and you looked around in the huddle and there was no left end, but three guards, guess who got to play left end?  We could not go full bore the entire game, thus we paced ourselves. Many games were won in  the 4th quarter by the team with the players in the best of shape.  We had hard leather helmets.  We did not have face guards thus we were careful as to exactly where we put our heads.
Today with specialty teams they play full bore for a few minutes and then go set on the bench and rest.  When there is a turnover a whole new fresh team comes on the field.  Individual substitutions are random and made at will.    With padded hard plastic helmets and face guards players have a sense of infallibility.  They make no attempt to protect their heads.  Other equipment padding adds to the feeling. The football is smaller and shaped more like a bullet to facilitate the passing game and spectacular catches.
Granted, today’s rules make the game more spectacular, but at what price?

MISS OCASIO-CORTEZ ON MIAMI
Recently at a NAACP town hall, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) insisted that the city of Miami has only a few years left to exist.  She stated, “When it comes to climate change, what is not realistic is not responding … with a solution on the scale of the crisis—because what’s not realistic is Miami not existing in a few years. That’s not realistic. So we need to be realistic about the problem.”
It’s incredibly amazing that such a young person with such big eyes, such big ears, and such big mouth has such a little brain.
I have news for Miss Ocasio-Cortez.  Miami will still be here when you are long gone.

THE PROBLEM - LUNACY & SOCIETAL MORES
I took this from another blog:  “If you think an 18 year old is too young to own a rifle, and you think a 16 year old is mature enough to vote; and if you think a 14 year old is old enough to get an abortion without parental consent; and  you think a 3 year old is mature enough to decide its own gender . . . Then you are the problem.”
The problem as I see it is the lunatics in Congress.  And, why are they there?  Because we put them there.  Why do we put them there?  Because so many people are inept, and they vote. (Why do I know that?  Because I was an election judge for 12 years.)   Why do they vote?  So the government will give them freebies.
What’s the cure?  A complete cultural shift in our societal mores and attitudes.
   Easier said than done.

TRYPOPHOBIA.  SAY WHAT?
   This absurdity is from CNN:
“Apple unveiled its new iPhone models on Tuesday -- but while some tech fans applauded the new phones' design and specifications and others weighed in on their pricing, another feature has caught the eye of trypophobia sufferers everywhere.
The Pro and Pro Max phones feature three camera lenses. And while the design is likely to appeal to photography fans, some social media users say it is triggering their trypophobia -- an intense, irrational fear of small holes and clusters of circles and bumps, such as those in a honeycomb, lotus flower or bubble bath.
Research into trypophobia is limited. (No kidding?) Geoff Cole, a visual scientist at the University of Essex in the UK, told CNN that while it might seem "a little bit odd" for people to feel uncomfortable at the sight of holes clustered together, for people with trypophobia, the images can cause a range of reactions, with varying levels of severity.”
Obviously some people have far too much time on their hands to contemplate their navel and wonder at its marvels while they think up the absurdity of far-fetched things.

I have a phobia.  I call it: Liberphobia.  Every time I hear a liberal speak I have an uncontrolled urge to puke.

LIES, FACTS and TRUTH
Paul Joseph Goebbels was a German Nazi politician and Reich Minister of Propaganda of Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945.  He famously said,”Tell a lie often enough and it becomes the truth.”  Facts are much the same. They are more often than not changed, distorted, embellished, omitted, etc.
In today’s environment with social media, talk shows, and a 24/7 news cycle it’s difficult to shake the real  truth out from all we hear.   it’s almost impossible to separate truth and facts from lies.
Thus, lies, truth and facts are meaningless, and that’s a sad state of affairs..

DEMOCRATS KNOW EVERYTHING
I never cease to be amazed at how smart Democrat politicians are.  It’s incredible how much they know.  They have a depth of knowledge about almost anything you can think of.
They’re expert meteorologists.   They know climate change is man made.  They know they can alter climate and save the planet from destruction in twelve years. They know hurricanes are made by man.
They’re expert geologists.  They know the earth is sinking and coastal areas will be inundated with sea water in a matter of a few years.  (And the Obamas bought a $15 million mansion on Cape Cod?)  They know fracking causes earthquakes and destroys the environment.
They’re firearms experts.  They know guns kill people.  They know the AR-15 is an assault weapon.  They know magazines hold one round. They know that more anti-gun laws will solve the problem of gun violence.  They know gun registration will make guns safe.
It’s astonishing they know so much on how to solve problems as they walk around human feces on their sidewalks in major cities.  Maybe they ought to solve that first.

It’s god-like audacity to believe man can control the planet.  It was eons of time before man arrived on the scene about 20,000 years ago.  (Man’s best guess.).  Another eon of time and man will not be here, but the planet will still be spinning in orbit around the sun, and there will still be climate change, a.k.a. weather.

COST of GOVERNMENT and THE FEDERAL RESERVE
I first entered the job market a little over seventy-five years ago.  The minimum wage was 40 cents an hour set by the federal government. A gallon of gasoline cost 20 cents.  I had to work one hour to buy two gallons.  The price of a hamburger cost 25 cents. I had to work a little over half an hour to buy one.  A huge slice of Boston creme pie (my favorite) cost 10 cents at the local cafe.  I had to work 15 minutes to buy one.  Cost of government was expressed in $millions.
Government spending has soared over the years. Today we have a national debt of over $22trillions.  Yes, $trillions.  An amount no one can comprehend. The largest item in  the annual government budget is debt service. How do they do this?  Simple.  Print more money.  A blessing none of us have.
Ron Paul said it best in the September 3, 2019 issue of Money & Markets:
“America’s Founders were not perfect. They were human beings just as capable of error as we are. But they had a remarkable understanding of the ideas of liberty. They understood that liberty cannot exist with a government that has access to a printing press. Sound money and liberty go hand-in-hand. If we want to enjoy the blessings of Liberty, we must audit and then end the Federal Reserve!”
    I’ve long agreed with Ron.

DO SOMETHING!
In the wake of mass shootings many people rail “Do something!”  Politicians pick up the echo and rush to pass legislation to do something.  It matters not there are already numerous laws on the books begging to be enforced.  Simply by passing more laws they can authentically say they did something as they pat themselves on the back with self-satisfaction.
In the meantime little, if anything, happens.
