End of 2015

Its late evening on New Years Eve for the end of 2015 as I sit here alone at home fighting back tears as many memories of days gone by flood my mind.  The year 2015 was not a good year for our family.  We had six deaths during the year.  First, my beloved wife of 65 years from a fatal heart attack.  Then my sister from complications associated with cancer.  Then, my daughter-in-law's mother from a heart condition.  Then, a cousin, an uncle, and a good friend.

My wife and sister were good friends.  They were childhood friends.  It was through my sister I came to know the little girl that would become my wife.  My sister's husband was also a childhood friend.  We all knew each other.  My wife and sister died within a few months of each other.  They are buried in a small family cemetery only a few feet apart with space for my brother-in law and me.

My kids want me to go live with them, but I can't leave this old place.  Its home.  Its so full of remembrances of my wife and our lives together.  I just can't leave them all behind and go away.  My son said, "Dad, you'll just die in that old house."  I replied, "Yes, son.  That's the plan."

Its been a sad and difficult year.  I hope and pray 2016 will be better and kinder.  With God's blessing and grace it will be.

I wish you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Gotta Love Trump

If for no other reason you gotta love Trump for the way he doesn't take any crap from the premier   darlings of the main news media.  He doesn't let FoxNews O'Reilly talk him down.  He leaves old Bill stuttering and muttering as he tries to out talk Trump.  Same goes for ABC's Stephanopoulos.  This morning on ABC Sunday Morning he left little Georgie boy looking like the sheepish shill he is for the Democrat Party.  I find it amusing these  prima donnas have more than met their match in Trump.

Trump's Appeal

Political pundits, main stream media and Washington insiders all publicly express their lack of understanding Trump's popular appeal.  What they don't or rather can't understand is there is a systemic displeasure across all demographics for the ruling class of Democrats and Republicans. They are incestuous and afflicted with what is popularly known in the hinterland as Potomac Fever.  They are mostly interested in their own power games and the rest of us be damned.  There is not a dime 's worth of difference between the two major political parties, the Democrats and the Republicans.  This gives rise to the potential for the instigation of a third political party, the American Party, with Trump as its leader.  Thus, Trumps's appeal.  The only problem is a third party run by Trump would elect Hillary.  Remember Ross Perot?  Thus, the strategy is to infect the Republican Party with Trump to remake the party and dump the RINOs like McConnell, Ryan, et al.

ISIS - Passports and Dollars

We learned a few days ago that ISIS has the capability to print fake passports that from all appearances look to be real.  So, what will they print next?  U.S. dollars that look real.

Its not unlikely that soon they will show up at our borders with "real" passports and bundles of "real" U.S. dollars with the intent to do us real harm and will be waved through Immigration.

Obama, find out where their printing press is and bomb the hell out of it.  And, then bomb it again.

Obamacare -- Personal Account

This came in a letter from the husband of a niece.  He is a disabled Viet Nam veteran.  His family unit is his wife, an adult daughter and a six year old grandson.  They live in west Texas on a limited income.  He gets treatment from the Veterans Administration hospital in San Antonio, but the others have to find other health insurance options.  This pretty well sums up the experience many have with Obamacare.

"I enrolled both Kay and Honey in the Medical Marketplace when it first came out. Since that time they both have had their policies changed twice (with rate increases up to 17% already). The most affordable options for both of them do not allow access to medical professionals unless we travel 100 miles one way to San Antonio. Local doctors and clinics did not accept the policies that we were signed up for. The premiums were over $475 per month for each of them so I stopped paying in November. I'll pay the penalty this coming year and see what happens after that."

This gives cause to pause and reflect on what the real purpose is for Obamacare.  Perhaps Obama should quit worrying about future climate change and concentrate on "the now" for many American citizens.  Don't hold your breath.
