TERRORISTS - WHAT TO DO?
The other day a terrorist used a knife to kill three people on London Bridge.  He was previously convicted as a terrorist.  He served six years and was recently released.
Today on TV I heard an expert on terrorism say Islamic Jihadist terrorists are not reformed by time in prison.  He said they are dedicated to an ideology that dictates they kill infidels.  He said they will continue their terrorists ways after release, and the only way to stop them is to keep them in prison.

Well, I have a solution.  Dispatch them to meet Allah.  For certain they will never again threaten anyone with terrorism, plus it would be cost effective. Think of the all money that would be saved.

FOSSIL FUEL & SMART PHONES
What all those smart loud mouth brats out protesting fossil fuels don’t know is their smartphones are 80% made from fossil fuel.  So, if they are sincere the first thing they should do is give up their smart phones.  And, if they don’t give them up the government must confiscate them.  Almost everything they use daily (from soda straws to automobiles) is manufactured from fossil fuel.
So, shut up and go home.

IMPEACHMENT SMOKE SCREEN
Seems everyone has a theory about impeachment of Trump.  Schiff and his cohorts all have assumptions, but no evidence.  So, here are my assumptions with no evidence.
The Democrat’s impeachment accusations and investigations are twofold.  First, they are a smoke screen to give cover for their own misdeeds.  They know very well their name will be Mudd if they are ever investigated for the same misdeeds for which they are investigating Trump.   Second, the hearings are to derail Trump’s election in 2020.   The Democrats know very well their name will be Mudd if Trump is re-elected and launches investigations into their foul play in the elective process.
Stay tuned.  The fireworks may be exciting.

WILD-EYED LIBERALS
Has anyone noticed liberals have wild eyes?  Have you seen Adam Schiff, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilam Omar, Cathy Areu, et all on TV?  Their eyes almost bulge at times with a wild-eyed look.
Years ago when I was a kid in the late 1930’s I remember hearing my father talk about, “Those wild-eyed liberals.”  It’s tantalizing to try to understand how he knew that.  We had no TV.  We barely had radio.  It had to have been from photographs in various publications of the day.  Else, he had the gift of perception few people have.

Years later when I was an adult my dad and I were having breakfast in a small town cafe in East Texas.  A young lady waited on us at the counter.  Dad said, “Watch out for her.  She has evil eyes.”  I left a more than gracious tip.  I didn’t want any haunt from a devilish evil-eyed waitress in East Texas.
UKRAINE - CHINA
What’s all the falderal about Ukraine? What makes the affairs of Ukraine more significant and important than affairs with China?  Ukraine is a 3rd rate country in the grand scheme of world affairs.  China is the 2nd most significant just behind us.  There has to be something nefarious that goes on in Ukraine that attracts political implications from our Democrat fellows.  Is the corruption and fraud a breeding ground for personal greed and enrichment?
   I wonder.

VETERANS DAY
I attended the Veterans Day remembrance and honor program at the local American Legion hall.  I was one of the six WW II veterans there.  We were specifically honored as a group.
I had to leave a little early.  I had to be at Alton Elementary School at 12:30 to participate in their program.  I was guest speaker for about 200 young people in grades K-6, and about 100 parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc.  I spoke about 5 minutes about myself and my WW II service.  I then talked about 10 minutes with them about service, duty, and honor, and their contribution to the future of our nation.
   It was fun.

IMPEACHMENT OF THE PRESIDENT
Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution provides: “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”
What treason, bribery or high crimes and misdemeanors has Trump committed?  When I ask non-Trumpers they aways reply, “He is not presidential.”  Well, whoopee!  Obama was? And, what did we get?
The Democrats are trying to make a whole hog using only a hog’s left ear.

TWEETS - LAWFUL PROCESS?
This was reported on Fox News.  If you believe this guy I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'll sell you.
Mark Zaid, the attorney for the Ukraine call whistleblower, on Thursday defended a series of tweets from 2017 in which he predicted a "coup" against President Trump and promised to “get rid of him” -- saying in a statement the tweets referred to “a completely lawful process.”
A fish-tale excuse that would embarrass a fish.

TERM LIMITS
Term limits, an intriguing concept.  But, we already have a form of it.  The president is limited to four years and only two terms.  He can be voted out at the end of his first term.  Our Senators are elected for six year terms.  They can be voted out at the end of their first term.  Our representatives are elected for two year terms. They can be voted out at the end of their first term.
So, why is it we keep re-electing the same people?  Because collectively we’re too lazy.  We spend precious little time getting to know about our political representatives, or what they stand for.  Many do not even bother to vote.  Many who do vote simply vote for the one whose name they recognize.  Some vote for the lesser of the two evils.  Few actually vote based on some knowledge of the candidates and what they stand for.
Politics is a rough and tumble blood-sport.  Nothing is coincidental.  Everything is to get elected. Nothing is off limits.  Candidates brand opponents in the most  degrading way often accusing  them of being  the most hideous among us.  As a result few people of sound character and ethics run for public office.  They and their families do not want to be subjected to all the mud slinging. Thus, unsavory characters often run for office.  The allure is strong for power and that translates to money and riches.
Once elected they become immersed in the culture of the swamp with gross perks and privileges.  It’s the most elite club on the face of the earth.  So, a lot of time and effort is directed toward getting re-elected at the expense of legislative affairs.  And, we, the citizens, aid and abet them by simply not voting or voting for the incumbents because we recognize their names.
I recall years ago in Texas a guy with the name Jesse James ran for Treasury Secretary.  He was elected.  His name was the most recognizable name on the ballot.  As things developed he was not the most desirable guy for the position.
Another time a guy named Yarborough ran for the Texas Supreme Court.  He was elected.  He played on the name of a former popular governor with the same name.  As things developed he was not of the character to serve as a Supreme Court Justice.

We are stuck with the current form of term limits until enough people decide to do something to vote them out.  Otherwise things will continue as they are.  Not too likely the current occupants will vote themselves out of office by imposing term limits.

VETERANS DAY SPEECH AT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
I was asked to give the featured speech at an elementary school for their Veterans Day program.  I've been busy preparing.  Here is what I plan to say:

I’m honored and privileged to be here as the guest of such a fine group of young people.
This Day was set aside a long time ago to remember and honor all the men and women that served our nation from the Revolution over 200 years ago to this very day.
We honor all who served, but most of all we honor those men and women that gave their lives to save our liberty and preserve our freedom.  They are the heroes.
Many men and women served our nation in time of  war.  My generation served during WW II.
I served in the Army Airborne.  We were paratroopers.  Yes, we jumped out of perfectly good airplanes.  Many young people ask if I was scared on my first jump.  I tell them, “Yes, I was a little scared.”  I had never been in an airplane much less jump out at over a thousand feet.  I jumped or someone pushed me out.  I don’t know which.
My parachute opened.  As I floated down I looked all around.  I had never been so high or see so far.  All of a sudden I saw the ground coming up . . . fast.  I hit with a thud.  I learned it’s not the jump that hurts.  It’s that sudden stop when you hit the ground.
The 11th Airborne Division was deployed to the South Pacific and the Philippines.  The islands and jungles were not well suited for Airborne operations. The first two attempts almost ended in disaster.  So, they were used as replacements for ground infantry.  I was assigned to the 11th Airborne in preparation for the invasion of Japan proper.  People ask how many combat jumps I made.  I tell them, “One . . . out of the back of a truck.”
The war ended abruptly when the atom bomb was dropped on two Japanese cities.  I was among the early troops to land in Japan.  I served there the next two years on Occupation Duty.  These photos were taken while I in Japan.
Enough about me.  I want to talk directly to each and every one of you.  I learned over the many years that you young people have a certain wisdom few grownups recognize or understand.  To explain I like to tell stories about my own son when he was a young person like all of you.
One day when he was 4 years old I was preparing to fertilize the yard. He was running around barefoot.  I filled the spreader on the driveway and spilled a little.  As usual my son asked, “What ‘cha doing, daddy?“  I told him I was fertilizing the yard.  As usual he asked, “Why?”  I told him to make the grass grow and went on about spreading the fertilizer.
In a few minutes I looked over at the driveway.  I saw my son standing bare foot in the fertilizer I spilled.  He was bent over looking down at his feet.  I shouted at him, “Son, why are you standing in that fertilizer?” He replied, “To make my feet grow.”  His feet did grow larger, but not because of the fertilizer.  He got older and his feet got bigger.
Another time was a Saturday.  He was 10 years old. He and I were cutting and stacking firewood.  He never understood why because we already had a big stack of firewood.  I thought it was good for him and me to do a few chores together.
Some friends came by with a football.  They wanted him to go play with them.  I said no because we had wood to cut and stack.  He grumbled and a few tears filled his eyes. I told him when I was his age I had to cut and stack firewood almost every day. We had wood burning stoves for heating and cooking.  I said it was good for me then and it is good for him now. He began to saw with a vengeance.
He suddenly stopped, looked up and said,”Daddy I know why you like to cut firewood so much.”
“Yeah, why?”
“Because it makes you feel like a little boy again.”  I thought  about that for about 3 seconds.  I said, “Go play football.  I’ll finish up.”
So, all of you have a certain wisdom.  What matters is how you use that wisdom.  My generation is history and will soon fade away.  You, each and everyone of you, are the future of our nation.  You will serve and decide what our nation will be in the future.
Today is now.  Tomorrow today will be history.  It is what you do today that will determine what tomorrow will be.  It's your decision.  You can decide to make today a day to learn so tomorrow will be better.  Or, you can decide you don’t want to learn today, and your tomorrow will be no better than today.
There are many people that will help you today so your tomorrow will better.  Your Mom and Dad, your grandma and grandpa, your teachers, your coaches, all  will all give you their best so your today will make your tomorrow better.
So, do your best.  Our nation depends on you.  Some day you will get to serve your nation.  Serve it well.
It’s been a rare privilege to be here with all of you this day to remember and honor all those who have served our nation well.
Thanks.  Goodbye.  HAVE A GREAT TODAY and a BETTER TOMORROW!
