VETERANS DAY

I attended the Veterans Day remembrance and honor program at the local American Legion hall.  I was one of the six WW II veterans there.  We were specifically honored as a group.

I had to leave a little early.  I had to be at Alton Elementary School at 12:30 to participate in their program.  I was guest speaker for about 200 young people in grades K-6, and about 100 parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc.  I spoke about 5 minutes about myself and my WW II service.  I then talked about 10 minutes with them about service, duty, and honor, and their contribution to the future of our nation.

   It was fun.
