Questions on Religion

Prayer. What is it that seculars and atheists find to be so afraid of about prayer? If in their minds there is no God, then what is the big deal about someone praying, or students praying in school? Regardless, there will always be prayer in school as long as they teach algebra.

Evolution. What is it with evolutionists? If they truly believe evolution then they have to ask the question: What is the force that caused an ameba to evolve into a walking, talking and thinking human being? It doesn't just happen.

Earthquake

Just saw a report on FoxNews that a 5.9 earthquake hit Washington, D.C.

Lets see now, Obama has blamed his failures on several different things including nature related events such as a tsunami in Japan. Now he can blame his failures on an earthquake, and further more Hurricane Irene is bearing down on Washington so I suppose that is also a contributing factor to his failures. Maybe God is sending him a message. Wonder if he is listening?

Luck

There's three kinds of luck. 1) Good Luck, 2) Bad Luck, and 3) No luck. Some people are just plain lucky while others are just plain unlucky. It appears Obama has had a run of bad luck. First he whined it was Bush's fault and blamed him for his failures. Then he whined and blamed the TEA Party. Then he whined and blamed the tsunami in Japan. Now he is whining and blaming his failures on "Bad Luck". So, what is the difference between bad luck and good luck? Years ago when I was a youth playing high school football we lost a crucial playoff game on an unusual occurrence near the end of the game. We whined to the coach the other team was just lucky and we had a run of bad luck. The coach scoffed and told us there is no such thing as good luck or bad luck. He said. "Its just luck, and luck is when preparation meets opportunity."

So, Mr. President Obama, you should have played football under my old coach. You may have learned a lifetime lesson. Quit your whining and concentrate on preparation. Perhaps your luck may change.

Perryspeak versus Obamaspeak

Before we all get our underwear twisted in a wad about Gov. Perry's pronunciation of present participles ending in "...ing" (like "goin" instead of "going") let's consider President Obama's pronunciation of certain words.

He speaks fairly well when he reads prepared scripts from the teleprompter, but when he talks off-the-cuff he doesn't do so well. He pronounces "going to" as "gonna" as in "I'm 'gonna' develop a plan." He pronounces "sure" as "shore" as in "I'm 'shore' the Republicans 'er' wrong." He pronounces the preposition "for" as "fur" as in "I know 'fur shore' the TEA Party 'er' all terrorists." He pronounces "their" or "there" as "thar" as in "I don't know for 'shore' what 'thar' intent is." There are more examples of Obamaspeak that can be stipulated, but I think you get the picture.

So, if the liberal so-called main media and Perry's opponents are intent on critiquing his speech patterns, I suggest they first look at their own man's speech patterns. Enough to make Miss Womack (my 6th grade teacher) become very ill.

Ted Nugent

Click on this link and it will take you to a good article by Ted Nugent, the gun totting rock 'n roller. Ted in his usual fashion tells it--direct and to the point--like it is.

Noah Webster Quote

This is so appropriate. A great Noah Webster quote from an Internet site:

Noah Webster – “When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, just men who will rule in the fear of God. The preservation of our republican government depends on the faithful discharge of this duty…

If a republican government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect their divine commands and elect bad men to make and administer laws.”

…if the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office – the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good, so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizens will be violated or disregarded.

Obama's Legacy

I just finished watching a video replay of Obama's speech today about the downgrade of our rating from AAA to AA+, the first time in history since the ratings started in 1919. I can't believe how weak he is. First, it was two and a half days after the fact before he came out with a statement. Then, his statement was totally off mark and ineffective. It was just platitudes, no ideas for solving the debt problem. It IS a debt and spending problem, not a revenue (taxes) problem. He has had every opportunity to have a great legacy as the first black president that brought prosperity to the nation. Instead, he will go down in the annals of history, not as the first black president (that will be a footnote), but as the first president to preside over the demise of the United States bond rating due to his spend and tax and spend and tax policies. He will reside side-by-side with Hoover and Carter as one of the worst, if not the worst, president in our history.

Obama Parties - Economy Tanks

From the Washington Times:

"For his 50th birthday, President Obama danced barefoot in the Rose Garden with a group of friends on Thursday. The stock market had just closed at a two-year low, so the posh White House shindig was kept off the schedule. No photographers were allowed to capture images of celebrities and wealthy Democratic Party leaders living it up while the economy sinks just outside double-dip territory."

Nero fiddles and dances while Rome burns. Is there anything else that needs to be said?

Super Committee

Super Committee? What the heck is that? We elect people to go to Washington to do our business, and what do they do? They pass the buck. They cobble something together looking like a piece of Swiss cheese that no one understands. No one has time to read and study it so they pass it into law to meet some artificial deadline. In the meantime they create something called a "Super Committee", a group of unknowns, to work out the details. That is how to skate around your responsibilities and blame someone else when things go wrong. When has anyone in Washington paid attention to anything put forth by a committee? The only effective committee is a "Committee of One". I heard it best said by Huckabee: "A donkey is a race horse put together by a committee".
