Message to the Government

There are three simple things to restore sanity to our otherwise crazy out of control government.  They are:

°  Stop spending over and above revenues.

°  Secure the borders.

°  Stop giving stuff away, foreign and domestic.

Once these three things are accomplished we can then go on to address the other compelling issues of our time. To do otherwise is foolhardy and will lead only to more chaos.

What's Real and What's Not?

Am I nuts?  Has the world gone crazy?  What's real and what's not?  I don't know what to believe any more.

Some college star football player has a three year on line romance with an imaginary young lady.  Some well known starlet singer lip synchs the national anthem at the inauguration ceremonies.  The president and his chief aids for weeks blame a terrorist attack on a relatively unknown YouTube video.  An internationally know bicycle competitor publicly admitts he used illegal performance drugs to win all those races.  Politicians say one thing and then do just the opposite.  Some people, including legislators, rush to condemn legal gun owners and urge a ban on all guns not knowing the first thing of what they are saying.

What ever happened to honesty, integrity, sincerity, and truthfulness in our national fabric?

 

Obama creates jobs

Have you been to a gun store recently?  Have you visited the gun department in Walmart recently?  Have you tried to buy a gun recently?  Have you tried to buy ammo recently?  If so, you found the shelves practically empty of  defensive type guns (semi-automatic pistols and rifles of all kinds).  You can find shotguns, bolt action rifles, and single shot guns.  You can find shotgun ammo.  But, all other ammo is almost impossible to find for purchase.  The shelves are bare.  When retail dealers do get semi-automatic guns and ammo they fly off the shelves in a matter of minutes.

So, what's the big deal?  Obama. . . what he says and does.  How does that create jobs?  The companies that manufacture guns and ammo are working around the clock and adding new jobs to meet the demand.  Even the National Rifle Association (NRA) has had to add new jobs to meet the demand for new members.  Gun stores have added additional sales people.  The local gun store where I live is crowded with customers and has added new sales people to meet the demand.  My wife and I were there over a week ago and customers were elbow to elbow all over the rather large store, and they were buying.

If Obama has done nothing else he has scared half the country into hoarding guns and ammo.  Why? Because most think that at some time in the near future guns and ammo will be severely limited, if not outright banned.  Many think  events caused by Obama's policies and actions may cause situations where guns and ammo will be needed to protect themselves and their families.  

2nd Amendment

I lifted the following from a rather lengthy article by Judge Andrew P. Napolitano about the 2nd Amendment.  Many people simply do not understand the reason for the 2nd Amendment.  It has absolutely nothing to do with hunting or target shooting.  It has everything to do with FREEDOM, the ability to protect ourselves from tyrants and protect our nation from despots like Stalin, Hitler, etc.  The 2nd Amendment is second behind the 1st Amendment (freedom of speech and religion) for a reason. . .to protect the 1st Amendment.  Our Founding Fathers knew exactly what they were doing.  Way too many people today have no idea what the Constitution is and what it means to them.  That, plus gun confiscation, will lead to the fall of America into the hands of some despot dictator.

We must protect and conserve the 2nd Amendment to protect and conserve America!  Obama be damned.  He has done more to trample on the Constitution than any prior president.

On Nov. 29, 1766, Benjamin Franklin wrote for the London Chronicle, “I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. – I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. In my youth I travelled much, and I observed in different countries, that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer.”

Guns and Hammers

What is it about guns the liberal "nutcakes" don't understand?

A gun is an inanimate object made of steel and wood.  A hammer is an inanimate object made of steel and wood.  Both have useful purposes in the hands of a responsible person.  Both can have nefarious purposes in the hands of an irresponsible person.  It has nothing to do with the objects.  It has everything to do with the person wielding it.  If someone is bent on killing someone they will find a way with a gun, a hammer, or even if it is as simple and pushing someone off a New York City subway platform in front of a speeding train.

Wake up you dunderheads and get real.

Fiscal Cliff Compromise

Well, here it is the first day of 2013 and what is Congress doing?  It's teetering the nation on the edge of the "fiscal cliff" about to fall over.

The Democrat dominated Senate dawdled for months doing nothing about a budget or financial solution to the impending "fiscal cliff" problem.  For months the Republican controlled House tried its best to cobble something together to avoid going over the cliff.  All in vain because the Democrats stonewalled every effort and refused to even talk much less compromise.  Then, New Year's Eve the Senate comes up with something at the last minute, and at midnight flings it over to the House.

Now, here it is noon the next day.  Pelosi with her Democrat cohorts are all over television bemoaning the fact the Republicans won't compromise even though they haven't had a chance to read the Senate (Democrat's) proposal.

I recall during the first two years of the Obama administration the Democrats controlled all three branches of government.  They then never once uttered the word "compromise" to the Republicans.  They pushed through legislation as though the Republicans were potted plants.

Compromise to a Democrat is: "You agree with me."  It's like back in 2009 when Pelosi was pushing Obamacare and she said, "You have to pass it to see what's in it."  What an idiot!
