INTEGRATION vs IMMIGRATION LAW
In 1957 President Eisenhower sent federal troops into Little Rock and other segregated cities in the South to enforce federal integration law.  What’s to say that in 2020 President Trump can’t send federal troops into San Francisco and other sanctuary cities to enforce federal immigration law?

BERNIE's MATH
Borrowed from a friend, Kathy Haigler
Facts. They always get in the way of the Dem-Socialists.
Bernie Sanders said at the debate last night that he wants minimum wage to be $15 per hour.
15$ X 40 hr week = $600
600$ X 52 weeks per yr = $31,200
Bernie Sanders wants free health care for all and was asked how he would pay for it. His answer was raise taxes to 52% on anybody making over $29,000 per year.
52% of $31,200 = $16,224 in tax
$31,200 - $16,224 = $14,976 is your pay
$14,976 ÷ 52 weeks = $288 per week
$288 ÷ 40 hr week = $7.20 per hour
Math. It’s fascinating.
...and I'm pretty sure that doesn't include city, school, MUD, hotel, hospital district, EMS service taxes, etc....

TERM LIMITS
Term limits isn’t the  answer.  We already have term limits every two years . . . it’s called elections.  Imposed term limits is just a band-aide on a more critical problem . . . the people that vote.  Most are ill informed.  They simply vote based on name recognition.  When a congressman gets booted by term limitation, who files to run in his/her stead?  Another ambitious politician with $$$$$$ signs in his/her head. Most of the voters will simply vote for the one whose name is most recognized. Term limits is only one of a three-leg stool.  The other legs are to make members of Congress live by the exact same laws we all have to live by.  No perks.  No opportunity to become multi-millionaires. That sifts out the chaff.  The other leg is much more difficult . . . educate the electorate.  That has to begin in the elementary educational system and carried all the way through secondary and academic education.  Term limits or recall should be for those (federal judges) who have lifetime appointments.

SOCIAL SECURITY FORM 1099
This afternoon I began to look about doing my 2019 taxes. Couldn’t find the Social Security 1099. Looked everywhere I could think it may be. Nothing. Called the Social Security Help Line. Had to deal with an entire series of unrelated questions from some dumb machine with the brain of a gnat. Finally, got to the right place. The same dumb speaking machine informed me the wait time was 26 minutes. All the while it played some ear numbing music that from time to time was interrupted to apologize for the long wait.  I worked on the computer as I waited.  I waited 48 minutes before I got to speak with a real live talking human being. Took no more than three minutes to verify my identity and make the request for a duplicate 1099. The guy was very nice and effectively took care of things. The long wait was somewhat vexing.
MyBook

Below is the Prologue from the book to give an insightful glimpse of the character of the book.  For more information visit my website at:  http://pugtugandme.com

PROLOGUE
Two years before my dear wife died I asked her what I should do with all the stories, family history, letters, diaries, genealogy, etc., I had collected over the many years.  True to her tradition she had a simple answer, “Silly boy, write a book.”  As I often was wont to do, I paid little heed to her suggestion.
When she suddenly died I was so distraught the next several months I was not fully functional.  Sixty-five years of wonderful marriage and those delightful childhood years together were not easily given up.  A year later and I began to gather my wits and try to resume a somewhat normal life.
For the first time I read the diary she kept all through our childhood years until I went into the navy.  I then began to think about her suggestion.  Why not?  So I undertook this task to share our ancestry, life stories and many experiences that shaped our destinies as members of the Greatest Generation.
There is more truth than fiction in these accounts of our lives.  It’s my best recollection of events as they occurred and as some were told to me.  I purposefully made some changes to keep an element of anonymity.  Names of people and places are somewhat changed.  My dearly departed father once said, “A story ain‘t worth telling if it ain’t worth  embellishing.”  I’ve tried to keep embellishment to a minimum though some has covertly crept in.
 THIS IS OUR STORY.
