How dysfunctional can our government be?
On one hand they tell us it is not practical to disallow airline flights in and out of the ebola infested West Africa countries; whereas on the other hand they say the ebola virus has to be contained in those countries. How can it be contained there if they let people fly in and out? Oh, they'll check their temperatures at five U.S. airports of entry. Yes, and what about the other airports of entry? And, as Mr. Duncan proved temperature alone is not a true indicator.
So, how do they contain the virus in those countries? They send several thousand American military personnel into those countries to "fight" the ebola. They assure us "all practical protocols are being observed" with straight faces. You and I know very well some of those troops will return to the United States infected with the ebola virus. Then what?
Despite all the assurance from Obama down to the Dallas County judge that it is "highly unlikely" we will have the ebola virus outbreak here it has happened. Just today a nurse that treated Mr. Duncan in Dallas has been diagnosed with ebola.
This isn't very comforting for the public at large. A little sarcasm to illustrate the point: My wife suggested Obama go to West Africa to fight the ebola. I said it won't happen. They don't have a golf course there.
