Elitist Rulers and Humility

It is more and more evident we are no longer governed, rather we are ruled by an elitist ruling class of arrogant professional politicians that see everything through the prism of power and politics instead of the lens of reality. Consequently, we have more and more politicians making more and more decisions about more and more things they know less and less about. I truly believe all elected officials should have to once every month clean a really very dirty toilet just to give them a good dose of humility.

Illegal Immigration and Possession

(CNSNews.com) - Sheriff Larry Dever of Cochise County, Ariz., one of four Arizona counties contiguous with the U.S-Mexico border, said Friday that the U.S. Border Patrol has pulled back from parts of the border in his and neighboring counties because manning those areas has become too dangerous. “And you frankly have Border Patrolmen--and I know this from talking to Border Patrol agents—who will not allow their agents to work on the border because it is too dangerous,” Dever told CNSNews.com in a videotaped interview. “Now what kind of message is that for crying out loud?”

I'll tell you what kind of message this sends. We, our current government, are ceding possession of sovereign lands of the United States of America to foreign invaders from Mexico. Possession is 99% of ownership. In fact, long time case law in the U.S. recognizes squatters rights to own property they occupy for an extended period of time regardless of what the owner may or may not think. In effect, we better get our butts down there and re-occupy our property else surrender it to Mexico.

Ramadan-Muslim Holiday

Friday this week Obama hosted an Iftar dinner for Muslims at the White House to mark the beginning of Ramadan, a major Muslim holiday. This is just another of the many significant signs Obama is a Muslim. I know the 1st Amendment gives us all freedom of religion. But, I get nervous when a Muslim sits in the White House as president and leader of our nation and the free world. As disciples of Islam and the Al-Quran their avowed purpose is to subdue or kill all infidels. That is not a religious freedom in keeping with our American heritage and principles, and it must be opposed.

Religious Freedom and A Mosque at Ground Zero

Just what is religious freedom? The First Amendment says: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

So, does this mean you can build a church, synagogue, or mosque anywhere you want to? If past history is any indication, I think not. Lets look at David Keresh and his religious compound in the countryside east of Waco. Or, lets look at the so-called fringe element of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day-Saints (Mormons) and their religious compound in far west Texas. What did the government do to the Waco group? Burned their religious compound to the ground killing most of the members, including their children. They effectively destroyed these peoples' right to religious freedom. What did the government do to the Mormons? Arrested the church leadership, tried them for child endangerment and other egregious crimes, and put them in jail; thus effectively infringing their right to religious freedom.

So, why is it a group of radical Muslims in the name of religious freedom can throw camel dung in the faces of others and build a mosque next to hallowed ground in New York City where a group of radical Muslims killed 3,000 innocent Americans? Where is the consistency?

Mr. President, your Muslims can build a mosque next to Ground Zero the day the Jews can build a synagogue in Mecca.

Hot Political Rhetoric

Its the "dawg days" of August. The temperature is heating up. With 93 days left until the November elections the political rhetoric is getting hot 'n hotter. Obama is dashing around everywhere trying to shore up public approval of his increasingly unpopular agenda to save his failing plan to fundamentally change America. Most Democrats up for re-election are doing their level best to distance themselves from him. Just look at this Rasmussen chart to see the decline of Obama's approval rating with likely voters.
