Fed Up, by Texas Gov. Rick Perry - Part 4

More of my favorite quotes from Governor Rick Perry's book, Fed Up:

President Obama's 2010 Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR), the periodic strategic plan for our national defense, devoted a full three pages to climate change, mentioning it more times than China, Russia, North Korea, or Iran.

Ridding the world of nuclear weapons may appease the most ardent leftist protestors, but it ignores the realities of a world full of power hungry despots that respect us not because of our ideals but because of our strength.

Nothing is more critical to the welfare of our nation nor more fundamental to the powers granted to the federal government than our national security. Yet, the current regime treats it like some international popularity contest while focusing time and again on countless matters not remotely contemplated for federal action by the Founders.

President Obama seems more inclined to turn NASA into a Muslim outreach effort than to advance our interests in space.

Washington's paralysis on the seminal issue of our time--dealing with terrorists whose mission is to kill as many Americans as possible--signals weakness to our enemies.

Washington simply cannot follow basic instructions. The Constitution is not a complicated document. The federal government's core function is to defend the nation. Yet, our military is strained, our leaders are more concerned with world popularity than strength, and our borders remain porous.
