Check out the chart "National Debt from 1940 to Present" to get an idea of what the Federal Reserve is doing to this nation.  In 1943 I worked for the minimum wage which was 40 cents an hour.  Gasoline was 19.9 cents a gallon.  I had to work an hour to buy two gallons of gasoline.  In 2012 the minimum wage is $7.25 an hour.  Gasoline is $3.25 to $3.50 a gallon.  A person working at the minimum wage still has to work about an hour to buy two gallons of gasoline.  Nothing much has changed except the Federal Reserve has inundated us all with a constant growth of inflation.  At some point the "bubble" will burst, and then we all will fall into an abyss of financial despair unlike anything ever witnessed in the span of mankind of earth.
