Progress with Wife's New Knee

The doctor removed my wife's stitches a week ago last Thursday. Her leg was still swollen and badly discolored, even down into her toes. I was concerned because of her Type II diabetes. We were back to see the doctor last Thursday and he was pleased with her progress since he last saw her the week previous. She had healed nicely and was able to flex her knee 100 degrees. The doc was amazed. He said only 2% of those that have knee replacement surgery can do that in the first three weeks. He said she did not need to go to the Rehab Center for therapy--just continue what she has been doing. She walks a lot, does ankle pumps, and knee flexes.

Today she is doing very well. Her incision is healing nicely. She walks about the house without assistance. She takes the walker when she goes outside or we go to town. When she complains, which is infrequently, I remind her this "hospital" is run by an amateur. We've eaten a lot of soups and bacon and eggs the past two weeks. I can open cans and heat the contents, and I can fry bacon and eggs. That is the extent of my cooking prowess.
