President-Elect Trump

 I’ve had my doubts and reservations about Trump.  I mostly voted for him as a vote against Hillary, but now think it was a good choice.  I was leery of him from the git-go because I couldn’t figure him out.  I first thought he was entering the fray to promote his reality show and brand.  I then began to think he was a Trojan Horse for the Democrats.  I then began to think he was doing it just for a lark.  I then began to think he actually believed his own rhetoric.  I then began believe by election time that he was the right guy for the job.  At first I disliked his outrageous comments and combative attitudes, but have come to believe they were by design.  Had he been “Mr.  Nice Guy” like the lovable reasonable Ben Carson the Democrats and mass media would have eviscerated him, and we'd have been voting for Jeb.  Sometimes you have to be outrageous to get peoples’ attention.   I came to like the way he would stand his ground and not back down in the face of criticism and rebuke.

My fervent hope now is he will make the transition from candidate to president.  That he will surround himself with wise and capable associates and advisors and act accordingly.  I've long thought:  "The man doesn't make the office, the office makes the man."  Time will tell.
