Ted Cruz

Ted Cruz, the TEA Party choice, won convincingly over David Dewhurst, the GOP establishment candidate, in the Republican July 31st run-off election in Texas.  Early on before the primary elections Cruz was a virtual unknown having never held elective public office though he had served as the Solicitor General for the State of Texas and successfully argued before the Supreme Court.  Dewhurst was the long-time Republican established politician in Texas having held several elective offices and is the current Lieutenant Governor.  Dewhurst out spent Cruz 3 to 1 in the campaign contributing $15 million of his own money to his cause.  Cruz retail campaigned going to numerous small groups all over the state. Dewhurst concentrated on the big moneyed supporters in the large cities.  Cruz even meet with a group of about 30 people in my own home town.  My wife and I attended and had face-to-face discussions with Cruz.

This should be a wake up call to established politicians and the Republicans in particular.  People are fed up with the career establishment politicians.  They are the ones that got us into this current mess, and we have no faith they will or are capable of getting us out of the mess.  The political pundits and national news media folks minimize the effect of the TEA Party, but they better wake up because here comes the TEA Party.  And, we're taking no prisoners.

BO must GO
